GEODEMY: a Jean Monnet Chair on GeoAI and Earth observation

GEODEMY begins at Università Politecnica delle Marche, connecting satellite data, geospatial AI and European policies for understanding climate, the environment and places.

GEODEMY – GEOAI for earth observation and moDElling eMploying earth sYstems intelligence – is a new Jean Monnet Chair at Università Politecnica delle Marche, within the Department of Civil and Building Engineering and Architecture (DICEA). It examines the role of geospatial AI and Earth observation in connecting European policies, digital technologies and society.

The Chair draws on European infrastructures such as Copernicus and Destination Earth. Satellite data, GeoAI and modelling can support a better understanding of climate change, environmental protection, risk prevention and urban resilience.

Its programme brings these themes into university teaching, interdisciplinary laboratories and education for students, professionals and schools, alongside open educational resources. For Maindh_Lab, this is closely related to research combining geospatial data, AI and knowledge of places.
